A flight south trades Laikipia’s plateau for the Mara’s open plains. Traveling between July and September puts you in the heart of the Great Migration, as vast herds move north from Tanzania and cross back and forth over the Mara and Talek rivers in search of water and grass. The next three nights are spent at Sand River, positioned directly on the migration route for the best possible vantage point on the action.
